Since no one has mentioned a real dedicated anti-cav option; Polearm and javelin infantry all day every day. Khans guard do the job fine since they're effectively polearm shock troops, but if avoiding them for whatever reason (goddamn warhorses are a major bottleneck at times) you want Aserai Veteran Infantry, menavillions (if they threw their pilum it'd be a massacre), veteran falxman
Probably Crossbow (Vlandian/Imperial) as your archer unit, notice the shield and the range really help out in sieges, both in defence and attack. Palatine guards work well aswell due to high armor. My current method is to stick 200 Palantines/xbows and 100-200 legionaires in every castle/town garrison. Reply. r/mountandblade.
Best infantry: Imperial Legionaries have good armour, good shields, and good swords. Vlandians have good situational infantry: Sergeants and Volgiers. Sturgian Berserkers are also good at melee. Best cavalry: Vlandian Cavalry has a shield, a lance, and a sword, good armour. Imperial Cataphracts have limited equipment.
If not imperial elite cataphracts. Infantry depends on where ur fighting. I would say for an open field battle imperial legionaries are the best but if it’s a forest with more cover from arrows I would say strugian heroic linebreakers. Best archers easily the Batanian Fiad champion. Best crossbow.
Couple things here. Press L1 to bring up your units stratified by unit type. By default all units are selected. To make it so that one less unit is selected press down on the d pad over that unit. The yellow highlight will disappear and orders issued will only be in effect for the highlighted groups.
